White and Blue Wedding at Chafford Park, Kent

It was an absolute pleasure to work at the beautiful Chafford Park over the weekend which is just down the road from me! It really is joyous to start getting more work in my local patch after moving to Kent in Feb. It meant that in between set up and clearing I was able to go on a nice dog walk and catch up with my husband rather than sneakily trying to snooze in my van for 20 minute intervals in loading bays in London (I do love London but the parking just makes me want to weep). We found a secret foxglove paradise which I tried and failed to make the hound (Matilda) pose in front of for several hours - to husband’s dismay.

Anyway, Chafford Park is an utterly beautiful venue and has the best of so many worlds in terms of what you might look for in a venue. A grand farmhouse built in the 1800’s sits as the backdrop to your day and it is essentially what I picture as my dream home! Nick and Bethan had their ceremony in the newly built barn which is basically a blank canvas for all your wedding dreams to come true - whatever they might be! The couple had hay bales, balloons, candles and a statement floral arch to frame them as they made their vows. They then moved to a tipi to party the night away (Beautiful World Tents). We stocked the tent with rustic crates with flowers spilling out in pale blue and white.

I must also mention the views at Chafford Park – the height of the venue means you look down across fields and fields of green in every direction. Basically a dream country wedding venue!

I have had a couple of drinks with Bethan to plan her flowers and it has been wonderful getting to know her (and Nick I already knew). Fab couple! Bethan’s mud stained dress just goes to show what a fun packed wedding it was! Congrats both and please move to Chiddingstone soon so we can all go to the pub!

I must thank my sister and Helen who both helped me get things over the line. Especially Helen who has a wonderful team at her farm and helped me add extra stability to the arch in a very last minute fashion - Thank you! xx

Sneak Peek of Nicky and Colin's Wedding Flowers at the Asylum in Peckham, London

It was so much fun to be a part of Nicky and Colin's amazing and unique day at the spectacular Asylum in Peckham. Below is a sneak peek of the flowers and I cannot wait to see the profesh photos. Nicky's dress was jaw dropping and totally original - not white! In other news I finally have a van and I am drowning in weddings! xx

A Christmas Wedding at the Old Library in Dulwich College

Flowers by Jennifer Pinder. Christmas wedding at the Dulwich College Old Library in London

Amy and Jimmy were a lovely couple to work for and had a beautiful wedding in the Old Library at Dulwich College, followed by a reception in a big marquee in Amy's dad's garden in Dulwich Village. And what a beautiful garden it is to work in! I was in foliage heaven and sneaked a few bits into the wreath that marked the entrance to the wedding party.

Dulwich College is a wonderful setting for a wedding and is one of the few places in London where you truly feel surrounded by greenery. Dulwich village is also just a short walk away giving your guests lots of options for a pre wedding brunch or drink. It also has amazing sunsets - we moved arrangements after the wedding ceremony at Dulwich College and spied the couple having some of the most beautiful snaps taken at sunset. Amy opted for flowers in traditional Christmas colours and these worked excellently against the dark wood panelling of the Dulwich College Old Library and set a fun seasonal tone to the wedding. Amy also had 'living' table centrepieces - we included hyacinth bulbs in the arrangements so that guests had something to take home to keep the spirit of the wedding going long after departure!

It was great to see some old faces becuase I used to go to school with Amy's brother! I also fell in love with Jimmy's mum - a bit of an aspiring florist herself! Thank you for including me in your day Amy and Jimmy. I must also thank my lovely sister who helped me set up, a pic of her leaving our last job of the year after hanging the final wreath is below! xx
